As a Civil Funeral Celebrant, I work with a family to help create a unique and individual service. As a non-faith practitioner, I am not limited by rules so the service can include music, poems, visual tributes, or hymns and prayers. I am committed to providing a meaningful and personalised experience that reflects the unique qualities of each individual.

Funeral Services

Civil Funeral Services are normally held at a crematorium but can be at a cemetery or Natural Burial Ground. I will work with the family to create a service that really captures the essence of your loved one. The script can be reworked until you are happy with it. The service can be entirely family led, with the celebrant presenting as much or as little as you wish. I understand the importance of honouring the wishes of the deceased and creating a fitting tribute.

Ash Scattering Ceremonies

I can guide and advise on suitable sites for scattering your loved ones ashes, and create a meaningful service to commemorate the occasion. Dependent on location, the service could include music, poetry or readings. The location of the scattering could be listed in the ashes register in order that you may return to the special place

Natural Burial Services

There is a growing move for a more environmentally friendly burial in a natural burial ground. I can provide a beautiful service at the chosen place of rest. The service can still include music, poetry and readings. There are a growing number of these natural sites.

Memorial Services

As more families chose direct cremation, you may wish to hold a memorial service at a later date in a more informal setting. I can help suggest locations locally, and provide a meaningful personalised memorial service

Pre-planning

Many people would like to pre-plan their funeral service. This relieves the burden on loved ones at a difficult time. Imagine how comforting it would be to know that the funeral service is entirely how the loved one would have wanted. I can help with this delicate situation with tact, empathy and understanding

A civil funeral is one that is ‘driven by the wishes, beliefs and values of the deceased and their family, not by the beliefs and ideology of the person conducting the funeral
